Shoebox Stories
We all have objects that we treasure, objects that reveal a little about us, even though they may seem insignificant to others. Often these objects have significance far beyond their appearance. These are the objects we stumble upon while searching for some other item. In stumbling across the object, memories trapped within us are released. The aim of “Shoebox Stories” is to use these personal objects, artifacts, or photographs to reveal the personal connection associated with them; a self-portrait created through the objects that matter to us.
Digital Story
The digital story is a media-rich story based upon a one to two page double spaced script. The finished story will be from two to five minutes long and be comprised of a recorded narrative of the script, still images or video that illustrates the story, and a musical soundtrack. Generally a digital story will contain now more than 15 images. The power of the story lies in its brevity and the economical use of different media types.
Many stories produced in our workshops associate the images which have been collected during the course of ones life journey with the story. But our primary concern is encouraging thoughtful and emotionally direct writing about the writers life, their experiences, their work, or their passions.
